All our workOur work / Case study
Every month, an independent agency gets a commission statement from each carrier it writes with, and someone checks them line by line. We built a reader that does the first pass.
Carrier statements arrive as PDFs, each laid out differently. Checking them means retyping policy numbers and amounts, then comparing them to what the agency expected.
The reader takes the statement as it arrives, pulls out every line, and checks each one against its own stated rate, so a person only looks at the lines that do not add up.
No reformatting and no setup per carrier. Upload the statement and every line is pulled out.
Each line is recalculated from its own rate, and the lines must add up to the printed total.
Many statements print two premiums. Commission is checked against the one it is actually paid on.
Only the lines that do not add up go to someone to review.
It checks and reports. No money moves through it.
On the first real statement it saw, it read all 14 lines exactly and matched the printed total on the first try, in about 40 seconds.
A 247-line statement from a second carrier also tied on the first try. Across both, 13 of 261 lines needed a person to look at them.
